Marketplace terms (pandits, temples, sellers, vendors)
Last updated:
These terms apply if you list on Divya Panchangam as a pandit, temple, merchant (seller of goods) or vendor (photographer, decorator, caterer, transport or similar), whether you signed up on the website or through our WhatsApp service. They add to our Terms of use. The marketplace is run by Kael Tripton Ltd, company number 17177071, 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
Listing
- A free listing is live as soon as you finish sign-up. You must give true and current information: your name, the services and pujas you offer, the languages, traditions and areas you serve, your fees and your contact number.
- Photos must be your own or used with permission. Don’t use images of deities or temples you don’t have the right to use.
- No caste-based listing or filtering. Don’t state caste preferences for customers, or offer services only to some castes. Gotra is used only in a customer’s sankalp.
- Listing is also subject to our Community guidelines.
- Temples may claim an existing listing seeded from public data by showing they’re authorised to act for the temple.
Verification
- To take paid bookings or sell, you must complete verification: identity, and for businesses and temples their registration, plus a phone number verified by code. We may ask for more documents, or refuse or withdraw verification, at our reasonable discretion.
- The Verified badge means we checked identity and the details listed. It doesn’t mean we endorse anyone’s religious practice.
- We keep verification documents securely and use them only as our Privacy policy describes.
Bookings and your obligations
- Respond to requests promptly. Accept only what you can perform. Arrive on time, or start online sessions on time, and perform the service as listed.
- Cancelling: if you cancel a confirmed booking, the customer gets a full refund. Repeated cancellations or no-shows lead to lower placement, suspension or removal.
- Follow the customer protections in our Terms of sale, including the cancellation windows and the 72-hour problem window.
- Don’t ask customers to pay outside the platform for a booking made through it. Dakshina offered freely in person is the customer’s choice.
- Puja Room pandits perform live online pujas assigned from the pool, at the per-session fee agreed with us, using the video account we provide. Sessions are recorded for the customer.
Fees and commission
Listing is free. When a customer pays through the platform, we deduct commission from the price. These are the standard rates:
| Product type | Commission |
|---|---|
| Online and at-home pujas (service_puja) | 20% |
| Pandit bookings (service_booking) | 12% |
| Temple services (darshan, sponsored pujas) | 10% |
| Vendor add-ons (photography, catering, transport …) | 12% |
| Physical goods (samagri, murtis, books …) | 15% + shipping at cost |
| Courses and digital products by third parties | 25% |
Your actual rate is shown before you accept a booking or publish a product, and may differ under a written agreement or a promotion. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice of any increase. Optional paid products, such as featured placement, are charged as described when you buy them.
Payouts
- UK, EU, US and other supported countries: payouts go through Stripe Connect to your bank account, after you complete Stripe’s onboarding. Stripe’s terms also apply to you.
- India: until we can pay through an Indian provider, we pay by weekly bank transfer through Wise to the account you give in Account → Payouts. We verify bank details before the first payment; a change pauses payouts until it’s checked again.
- Timing:
- Money for a service is released to you 72 hours after it’s marked performed, unless the customer raises a problem.
- Money for goods and digital products is released 14 days after delivery.
- Wise transfers are batched every Monday for everything released the week before.
- If a customer is refunded after you were paid (for example a chargeback, or a problem you’re found responsible for), we may deduct the amount from future payouts, or ask you to repay it.
Tax
You’re responsible for your own income tax, GST, VAT or other taxes on what you earn, and for any registrations you need. We may be required to report your earnings to tax authorities where the law requires, and may ask for your tax details. Where we act as merchant of record, or our payment provider does, the invoice to the customer shows this.
Prohibited conduct
- fake, misleading or copied listings, or fake reviews (including reviewing yourself or rivals);
- promising guaranteed results from pujas, remedies or gemstones, or using fear to sell (see our Disclaimer);
- selling illegal, counterfeit, unsafe or restricted items, including wildlife products and items made from protected species;
- harassment, discrimination, or asking for customers’ personal data you don’t need;
- contacting customers for marketing without their permission.
Ratings, suspension and takedown
- Customers can rate completed bookings as set out in our Community guidelines. You have a right of reply to any comment.
- We may hide or remove a listing, product, rating or reply that breaks these terms, the law or our guidelines. We may also suspend or close an account for serious or repeated breaches. Where we can, we tell you why first and give you a chance to respond. We act immediately where there’s a risk to people or a legal requirement.
- You can close your listing at any time. Bookings already confirmed must still be honoured or properly cancelled.
Liability
You’re responsible for the services and goods you provide, and for complying with the law, including food, safety and consumer law. We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill. We’re not liable for your losses from bookings not received, or from customers’ conduct. Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to the commission we earned from you in that period, except where the law doesn’t allow a limit.
Changes and law
We may update these terms with at least 15 days’ notice for material changes; urgent legal or security changes may take effect sooner. English law applies and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without taking away any mandatory protection you have under your local law.
